Mercury Knives

Mercury is a small family owned Italian Company that has been making knives since 1946. Attilio Del Ben started the cutlery factory which would later become Mercury. Attilio, who recently came home from the battle fields of World War II started the production of the “stiletto” flick knife and sporting folding knives. Drawing on the ancient experience of the city of Maniago's craftsmen, where the work with iron and the construction of armoury and agricultural tools had been developing since the “Venice Republic” domination.

Opinel Knives

The Opinel family first began to forge metal at the start of the 19th century. In 1817, Victor-Amédée was working as a peddler and learned his trade as a blacksmith during his rounds. He set up a forge in Albiez le Vieux, a small village near St Jean de Maurienne in the Savoie region of France, where he made nails, billhooks, knives, etc. The Opinel knife was invented by Joseph Opinel in about 1895. By the start of World War II as many as 20 million had been sold. The company is still run by the Opinel family.



Opinel Mushroom Knife

Curved design blade with a toothed back which makes it possible to remove the cuticle easily. Natural varnished beech handles have a wild boar silk brush to remove soil. Safety ring for locking the blade. 4 3/8" closed.
