Touchstone Pottery DeWitt, Michigan Touchstone Pottery is a small (7 person) craft company based in DeWitt, Michigan. They hand-make jewelry made of porcelain clay. Each piece is composed of fine grained, translucent porcelain clay. The intricate designs consist of slip glazes fired into the porcelain. The designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight and finished to a beautiful satin touch.
Pathfinder Wildlife Jewelry The Pathfinders series consists of 85 different wildlife designs by illustrator Glenn Wolff of Traverse City, Michigan. Touchstone Pottery's unique process allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. Each piece is placed on velvet-like foam and individually packaged in a gift box. A card is included with key words generally associated with the animal's characteristics. This card also includes the track of the animal and a poem in a Japanese Haiku format. Celtic Porcelain Jewelry These lovely pieces were originally developed in Scotland over 25 years ago and are now handcrafted in Michigan from fine porcelain clay. The Celtic Art designs are original illustrations of artists from Scotland, Canada and the United States based on traditional Celtic themes. Arthurian Legends The legends of King Arthur, the Round Table, and Camelot resonate today, as they did when the tales and deeds were new. The stories of valor and inspiration have evolved through the centuries, to represent the principles of honor, courage, romance, and hope. The handmade porcelain depicts modern interpretations of these immortal legends by Randy Asplund. They are approximate 1 3/8 by 7/8 inch. Because of her strong personal involvement, each product is a reflection of her own beliefs and needs. Most of the products by Deva Designs are produced in the U.S.A. After completing the design for a new product line, Micki searches out small businesses to manufacture the designs to her specifications. Working with small manufacturers, Micki is able to establish a personal relationship with the people that work on her product lines, and the additional business from Deva Designs allows the small business to expand.
