Bark River Knives
Escanaba, Michigan

The Bark River Knife & Tool Company is a family-owned business located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Their goal is to produce the finest semi-production cutting tools available on the market. Bark River knives are aimed for use by those who need real performance in the field. They use a blend of traditional and contemporary designs and styles. Manufacturing methods are also a blend of modern and traditional to gain needed tolerances while maintaining the subtle features that have produced exemplary cutting implements for centuries.

Bark River Knife and Tool employs A-2 steel in most if its knives. A-2 differs from other high carbon steels because of the addition of significant amounts of chromium and molybdenum. A-2 has a favorable reputation among woodworkers for its superior edge holding properties. Owner, Mike Stewart, has found over his many years making knives that this steel offers the best in edge-holding and ease of sharpening qualities using their proprietary heat treatment, and convex blade grinds. The heat treat applied to a Bark River knife is complex and time-consuming, involving two different metallurgical companies.

Your Bark River knife is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for life. If you have any problem with it, just return it to Bark River Knife & Tool Co. and they will repair or replace it.
